South Korea Daejeon
The ambitious refurbishment of Galleria Timeworld in Daejeon aligned in purpose and directive with Shake Shack to create a premium lifestyle experience for the local community in the fifth largest metropolis of South Korea. The concept was inspired by the blooming white magnolia, the emblematic flower of Daejeon. Inspiration derived from forms, elegance and refinement to create an elevated and unique aesthetic.
A larger than typical footprint allowed for the spatial planning to be configured into three distinct seating zones delineated by ceiling forms, floor finishes and furniture materials. An abundance of façade glazing allowed focus to be on the elevated dining space towards the rear, drawing guests deeper into the space to marvel at the stylish curved ceiling structures echoing the magnolia flower.
The immersive rear dining space captures the attention of guests combining an expressive ceiling design with three dimensional localised artworks by Junkhouse that is also reflected on the exterior. Fluted glass, rose gold metal features and delicate petal styled pendants cast against a subtle tiled backdrop creates a beautiful iconic space for this truly individual neighbourhood Shack.
